Our second date: Pt3

Standing together on the pavement after the movie had ended, he lent over and kissed me on the cheek to say goodbye.  We had sat through the whole movie with our hands in our laps not knowing what to do or how to behave.

Teenagers these days could learn a lot about old fashioned dating etiquette.  I thanked him for a wonderful evening and drove home.

I remember thinking how that would be the last time I would ever see this man again as he would not be interested in a middle aged, single Mum who was financially unstable.  After all, he was hot, young and simply gorgeous.  He could have any women he wanted.

Lying in bed, I received a text message from him thanking me for a wonderful evening and that if I wasn’t doing anything the following day would I like to go on another date?  Of course I would.  How could I not want to see this amazing man again.

Having driven home after our date with no expectations, I was pleasantly surprised, a little excited and very much looking forward to the next day.

Hanging out the washing seemed enjoyable as I awaited his arrival the following morning.  He arrived to pick me up and off we headed to the Esplanade Cafe for a coffee.

We talked for a couple of hours and decided to take a walk around the aviaries and through the conservatory before he offered to take me back to his place to watch a movie.  Another decision that would further alter the course of my journey.

After all, the choice of movie could either cement our friendship or destroy it.  Thankfully it was the former although it could have back fired on him if I didn’t happen to have a sense of humor.  Was it wise of me to accept his offer?  Would I be safe and how would I get home if I wasn't?

Coming up next week:  What happened next?
